About Steele Web Design - The story behind it all...

It all began in 2002 in a school classroom in the town of Colchester, UK when David Steele, a high achieving fifteen year old student was given the task of designing a website by his IT (Information Technology) teacher. With no previous knowledge or experience of web design, David quickly discovered that designing websites was something that brought him a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment, not to mention having an unusual talent for building websites with a professional feel and intuitive navigation. Before the age of 16, David's talent was spotted and he was asked to create a real website for a family member.

David then went on to study Graphic Design, ICT (Information Communication Technology), Media Studies, Maths and Business Studies at A-Level. During this time he began to develop a strong understanding of the business world and found himself designing websites for a number of local businesses, mainly through personal contacts.

Following his A-Levels, David took a year out during which he designed numerous websites for small businesses before embarking on a BA Hons Degree in Business Studies. David now has a First Class degree in Business Studies from the University of Bedfordshire.

Not only has David studied Business and e-Business in depth in the academic sense, he also completed a year-long work placement in the field of Marketing (see news article), with a strong focus on e-Marketing. Since he already knew how to design good websites, his aim was to discover how to really take advantage of the internet in business to increase sales of a given product. Through lots of research and practical application (much of it 'trial and improvement'), David found himself discovering incredibly successful techniques and seeing a huge return on investment...
